Quick checks
- Turn on Bluetooth in Quick Settings (select the network icon on the taskbar).
- Put the device in pairing mode. This usually means holding its power or pairing button until a light flashes. Check the device's instructions.
- Charge the device and keep it within 1 metre of the computer.
- Disconnect it from your phone or any other device it's connected to.
Pair it again from scratch
- Open Settings > Bluetooth & devices.
- If the device is listed, select … > Remove device.
- Select Add device > Bluetooth and choose it from the list.
Still won't pair
- Run Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters > Bluetooth.
- Reinstall the driver: in Device Manager, expand Bluetooth, right-click the adapter, select Uninstall device, and restart.
- Using a USB Bluetooth dongle? Move it away from other USB devices, or use a short USB extension cable. USB 3 ports can interfere with Bluetooth.
No Bluetooth option? Some desktops don't include Bluetooth. A USB Bluetooth adapter adds it.
