A battery report shows exactly how healthy your battery is. We ask for one with every battery claim.
Create the report
- Right-click Start and select Terminal (Admin) or Windows PowerShell (Admin).
- Type powercfg /batteryreport and press Enter.
- The window shows where the file was saved, usually C:\Users\YourName\battery-report.html.
- Open the file in File Explorer.
- Send it to us by replying to your ticket, or attach it through the Contact Us page with your order number. A screenshot or PDF of the page also works.
What to look for: compare Full charge capacity with Design capacity. Grade A laptops should be at 80% or more, and Grade B laptops at 50% to 79%.
Before you send it, try these:
- Lower screen brightness and turn on Battery saver.
- Check Settings > System > Power & battery for apps using the most power.
- Install all Windows updates and your laptop maker's BIOS update.
- If the battery drains while the laptop is off, check the BIOS for USB charging when off, and turn it off.
- Use the charger supplied with the laptop. A lower-wattage charger may not charge it while it's in use.
- Unplug once fully charged, or set an 80% charge limit if your laptop supports it.
