Keyboard types the wrong symbols

If Shift + 2 types " instead of @, or other symbols are swapped, Windows is using a UK keyboard layout instead of US. The keyboard itself is fine.

1. Open Settings > Time & language > Language & region.
2. Select … next to your language, then Language options.
3. Add US under Keyboards and remove United Kingdom.

At the sign-in screen, use the language icon in the bottom corner to switch layouts, or type with the on-screen keyboard.
